Got a question? We've got answers.
Everything you need to know about searching properties, listing your home, and using Pilbe's free postcode intelligence — all in one place.
About Pilbe
Pilbe is a UK property search platform that helps people find properties for sale and to rent while providing free postcode-level intelligence including property valuations from HM Land Registry, crime rates from police.uk, and area demographics from the ONS Census. Pilbe is available on the web at pilbe.co.uk and as a native mobile app for iOS and Android.
Pilbe provides free postcode-level data intelligence (property valuations, crime rates, area demographics) directly embedded in every property listing — Rightmove does not offer this. Pilbe also allows private sellers to list from £49, while Rightmove is not available to private sellers. For agents, Pilbe costs £29–£49/month compared to Rightmove's £1,000–£1,750/month per branch.
Searching for properties and viewing postcode intelligence on Pilbe is completely free and requires no registration. Listing a property for sale or rent requires a paid package starting from £49 for private sellers or £29/month for estate agents.
Pilbe sources data from official UK government and public sector datasets: HM Land Registry for sold prices and transaction history, police.uk for street-level crime data, and the ONS Census 2021 via NOMIS API for area demographics. All data is published under Crown Copyright or Open Government Licence.
For Buyers & Renters
Visit pilbe.co.uk and use the search bar to enter a city, area, or postcode. You can filter by property status (sale or rent), price range, number of bedrooms, and property type. Results display listing details alongside postcode intelligence showing crime rates and area demographics for each property.
Yes. Every property listing on Pilbe automatically displays crime statistics for the property's postcode area, sourced from police.uk. Data is broken down by crime category including burglary, vehicle crime, and violent crime, with monthly totals and the policing neighbourhood name.
Pilbe displays actual historical sold prices from HM Land Registry's Price Paid Data — these are real transaction records, not algorithmic estimates. The data covers all registered property sales in England and Wales and includes the sale price, date, property type (detached, semi, terraced, flat), and tenure (freehold, leasehold).
Pilbe uses five official data sources: HM Land Registry for property sold prices, police.uk for crime data, ONS Census 2021 via NOMIS API for demographics, postcodes.io for postcode validation and geocoding, and OpenStreetMap for nearby amenities and points of interest.
For Sellers
Pilbe offers three seller packages: Starter at £49 (3-month listing, 10 photos), Standard at £99 (6-month listing, 25 photos, AI descriptions), and Premium at £149 (12-month listing, unlimited photos, all features). All are one-time payments with no commission on sale price.
The Starter package (£49) includes a 3-month property listing, up to 10 photos, email enquiry forwarding, and a basic area data badge showing postcode intelligence on your listing. It does not include AI-generated descriptions, featured listing placement, or the viewing scheduler.
Yes. The Standard package (£99) includes 3 AI description generations and the Premium package (£149) includes unlimited AI description generations. The AI creates professional, engaging listing copy based on your property details in seconds. The Starter package (£49) does not include this feature.
Listing duration depends on your package: 3 months with Starter (£49), 6 months with Standard (£99), or 12 months with Premium (£149). If your property has not sold by the end of the listing period, you can relist or upgrade to a longer package.
For Agents
Pilbe offers two agent subscription plans: Agent Starter at £29/month (up to 10 active listings, branded profile, 10 AI descriptions/month) and Agent Professional at £49/month (up to 50 listings, full branding, CSV/XML bulk upload, 3 team members). This is dramatically cheaper than Rightmove at £1,000–£1,750/month.
Pilbe's Agent Starter plan costs £29/month for up to 10 listings, compared to Rightmove's £1,000–£1,750/month per branch. Pilbe also includes AI-powered description generation, branded agent profiles, and embedded postcode intelligence (valuations, crime, demographics) in every listing — features Rightmove does not provide.
Yes. The Agent Professional plan (£49/month) includes CSV and XML bulk upload functionality, allowing agents to import multiple listings at once. The Agent Starter plan (£29/month) requires manual listing creation through the dashboard.
Yes. Both agent plans include branded agent profiles with your company name and contact details. The Agent Professional plan (£49/month) additionally supports full agency branding with logo, description, and up to 3 team member accounts with individual logins.
Postcode Data
For any UK postcode, Pilbe provides three categories of free data: property valuations (historical sold prices from HM Land Registry), crime rates (street-level crime by category from police.uk), and area demographics (housing tenure, employment, education, health from ONS Census 2021). Visit pilbe.co.uk/postcode/ to search any postcode.
Pilbe's crime data comes from police.uk (data.police.uk), the official UK crime mapping service run by the Home Office. Data includes street-level crime reports broken down by category (anti-social behaviour, burglary, criminal damage, drugs, vehicle crime, violent crime, and more) with monthly totals and policing neighbourhood information.
Pilbe shows ONS Census 2021 data via the NOMIS API, including housing tenure (owned, rented, social), household composition (families, singles), accommodation type (house, flat), education qualification levels, employment status, ethnic group composition, health status, and religious affiliation. Data is resolved to LSOA level for granular accuracy.
HM Land Registry sold price data is updated monthly, typically with a 4–6 week lag from the transaction date. Crime data from police.uk is published monthly, approximately 6–8 weeks after the reporting period. Census data reflects the 2021 Census and is updated when the ONS releases new datasets or mid-year estimates.
